1 - Truthing in Love

As we grow in Christ, we must come alongside others!

  1. Characterized by love

Hate the sin… love the sinner.
Repentance involves turning from sin and idolatry to Jesus through the gospel. (1 Thessalonians 1:9, 1 Peter 2:25, 1 Corinthians 6:11)
What is truth without love? (1 Corinthians 13:1-2)
Love involves:

  • Sharing God’s heart for the person
  • Identifying with the person in struggles
  • Warning the person of consequences
  • Investment of time, energy, and emotions
  • Moving together toward unity and maturity (Ephesians 4:13, 16)
  1. Characterized by truth

Some are DENYING truth to pursue desires instead.
Some are DECEIVED away from truth by society’s false teachings.
Some are DECIDING where they stand.
We must ABIDE in truth! (Colossians 2:8, 2 John 9)
What is love without truth? (1 Corinthians 13:3, 6)
God designed marriage and intimate physical relationships for one man and one woman for life! (Genesis 1:27-28, 2:18, 21-25, Matthew 19:3-6)
Practicing homosexuality is not characteristic of those who will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:9-10)
Approving homosexuality denies God’s design and God’s truth!
