Empty Religion (John 7:1-24)
Do you want what God wants?
Have you been confronted heart-to-heart with the character of God?
Cultivate a heart for obedience!
1. Look on Jesus with faith
Beware of religious tradition absent of faith, knowledge, and heart!
Don’t define Jesus by your worldview, but let Jesus define your worldview!
Faith cherishes Jesus without growing casually familiar!
2. Look on Jesus with awe
Jesus is not pursuing fame, but His rescue mission!
Beware of celebrity admiration of Jesus, being amazed but not confronted!
Jesus is not SAFE, but He is TRUE – do you want this Jesus?
3. Look on Jesus with brokenness
We must see our need for a Savior, rather than continue in our efforts!
To look into the Law is an encounter with an overwhelmingly holy God!
Beware of cultivating an appearance of morality in your performance!
