Is love a feeling?

• Love is a fruit of the Spirit. (Gal 5:22)
• Love is a command. (Matt 22:37-40)
• Love is a defining characteristic. (John 13:34-35)
• Love is a person: Jesus!

Cultivate Jesus’ love by the power of the Holy Spirit!

1. Care with meaningful love 1-3

Spiritual gifts without the fruit of the Spirit are meaningless!
Love values people passionately. (Love IS a feeling!)
Feelings must not drive the train! Feelings are the caboose, follow truth

2. Act with selfless love 4-6

Love wants the best for others… even at personal cost!
Love values people actively. (Love is an action!)
Love is giving yourself sacrificially.  The opposite of love is selfishness!
You can build toward others in love, or burn that bridge with selfishness.

3. Go all in with enduring love 7-8

Don’t let your love grow cold! (Matthew 24:12)
Love values people unconditionally. (Love is a commitment!)
Love is a decision.  Love… when you don’t feel like it!
