John 9:1-23

Following Jesus gives meaning to life!

1. Jesus sees the person

Slow down to recognize that those around you are real people with real needs!
Though we feel forgotten, there is a God–Who–Sees (Genesis 16:13)!
Suffering is not always a direct result of personal sin (Luke 13:2–3, 2 Corinthians 12:8–9).

2. Jesus values the person

Jesus values us enough to let us suffer with purpose (Romans 8:28–29, Philippians 3:10–11).
Jesus values us enough to make us the way we are (Psalm 139:13–14, Exodus 4:11).
Jesus values us enough to fulfill His plan and not man’s plan (Proverbs 19:21).

3. Jesus enlightens the person

Blind receiving sight was a messianic sign (Isaiah 42:7, Matthew 11:5).
Inability to see Jesus’ glory is spiritual blindness (2 Corinthians 4:3–6).
Jesus, the Light of the World, gives the light of the knowledge of God (Ephesians 1:18)!
