Are You the King?

We all stand before the transcendent King!

  1. Confronted by absolute truth 28-38

“What is truth?”
Jesus is the truth, and Jesus came to bear witness of the truth.
Truth is not relative to my feelings and desires, and cannot be manipulated.
The truth of God’s Word is relevant to me in every moment of life!

  1. Confronted by undeserved substitution 38-6

Sin introduced a curse on all upon the earth (Gen 3:14–19).
Jesus became my curse, bore all my wrath, and paid my penalty in full!

  • “Not guilty” (John 18:38, 19:4, 6)
  • Hung on the cross in shame (Deut 21:22-23, Gal 3:13)
  • Mocked with a “crown” of thorns (Gen 3:18)
  • Becoming my sin (2 Cor 5:21)
  1. Confronted by ultimate authority 7-16

God’s authority means our accountability.

  • Will we ignore the signs and exalt ourselves, like the Pharisees?
  • Will we seek to please others, like Pilate?
  • God sees all, and we will answer for all!
